What the data says
Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace (G Suite), and Atlassian hold the top four spots.
Operations (5) is the largest category in a list of established workplace staples, from Microsoft 365 at #7 to Salesforce at #14.
Shadow risk is low across these staples: the median Shadow IT index is 26.5, and 14 of the 20 apps score below 40. Microsoft 365 is the lowest at 2, and Loom the highest at 48.
The data was collected during the period of July 1-31 2025 and provides a real-time view into the SaaS stacks shaping modern work. While the top players remained steady, notable gains from GitHub and Figma highlight how development and design continue driving collaboration. Data reflects usage from real organizations.
Bottom line
This snapshot shows stability at the top but also rising momentum for tools underpinning creation and code. With most broadly secured yet some gaps in certifications, real-time visibility into your SaaS stack is key to balancing adoption with confidence.
