AI-native
An app built around AI: one in an AI theme (assistants, agents, coding and building, notes and voice, content and media), or an AI-first app in another theme.
How it's calculated
Every app has one primary theme from Torii Research's list. Apps in the five AI themes count as AI-native, and so do AI-first apps whose main job sits elsewhere, such as an AI browser or an AI recruiting tool. An edition's AI-native share is those apps divided by the apps listed.
How to read it
Use it to compare how much of an index is AI over time. It counts apps on the list, not how heavily each one is used.

A 0 to 100 score for how often an app is used without being sanctioned by IT. Higher means the app is more often left as discovered shadow IT.
- Adoption
The percentage of monitored organizations where an app was adopted during the month measured.
- Rank change
The number of places an app moved since the previous published edition of the same index.
- Viral score
A 0 to 10 score for how fast an app is spreading across workplaces.
