Adoption
The percentage of monitored organizations where an app was adopted during the month measured.
How it's calculated
Torii counts the organizations in its anonymized dataset where the app was adopted during the month and divides by all monitored organizations. It is a monthly figure, not a running total, so a well-known app such as a web browser can still appear when it spreads without approval. The Shadow IT Index and AI Breakout report this percentage for each app. The Adoption Index ranks apps by org-level adoption and compares the result with a 12-month rolling average.
How to read it
Compare adoption within an edition. Figures are aggregated, so no single organization's usage can be identified.
